Verdict: The Sony A90J wins on performance, features, and design thanks to its Cognitive Processor XR and Acoustic Surface Audio+, making it the better choice for a premium OLED experience. The Bravia XR 55A9G offers a solid 4K120Hz picture at a lower price point, but lacks the advanced audio and processing of the A90J. If budget is tight and you can find a good deal on the A9G, it remains a viable option, though the A90J provides a clearer edge in overall quality.
Our take: In side‑by‑side viewing, the A90J’s panel appears slightly brighter and its sound panel vibrates the screen for a more immersive effect, while the A9G relies on traditional speakers. Setup is similar, though the A90J’s slimmer bezel makes wall‑mounting a bit easier.
