The Sony SF-G 64GB and the SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB are both 64 GB CompactFlash memory cards aimed at photographers. And videographers who need reliable storage for high-resolution stills and 4K footage. Public specifications show the Sony SF-G 64GB delivering read speeds up to 300 MB/s while its write performance remains unspecified by the manufacturer, a detail echoed in many user reports that describe it as adequate for general use but inconsistent under sustained loads. In contrast, the SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB is rated for read speeds of 300 MB/s and write speeds of 260 MB/s, with independent benchmarks. And professional reviews frequently confirming its ability to maintain those figures during burst shooting and continuous video recording. Review aggregates highlight the SanDisk card’s stronger sustained throughput. And lower risk of dropped frames in demanding workflows, though at a noticeably higher price point than the Sony option. Bottom line: choose the SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB when write speed consistency matters more than cost, otherwise the Sony SF-G 64GB offers a serviceable and less expensive alternative.

Verdict: Pick Sony SF-G 64GB if you need an inexpensive 64 GB CompactFlash card and can accept unknown performance. Pick SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB if you require high write speeds for professional workloads and are willing to pay a premium. Neither publishes power, dimensions, weight or warranty yet.

Sony SF-G 64GB lists at $90 while SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB lists at $199.99 — Sony SF-G 64GB undercuts SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB by $109.99 (122%).
