AMD Rx 9070 Xt vs NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090

The RTX 5080 has 10,752 CUDA cores and 16 GB GDDR7 memory while the RTX 5090 has 21,760 CUDA cores and 32 GB GDDR7. Real-world benchmarks show the 5090 is 35-45% faster than the 5080 at 4K with current $1,199 vs $2,499 street prices.

The RTX 5090 offers 32GB GDDR7 memory and up to 2.1x the rasterization performance of the PS5 Pro's custom RDNA 3.5 GPU at 4K. At $1,999 MSRP the 5090 delivers superior ray tracing and DLSS 4 but costs over 4x the PS5 Pro's $700 price.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX has 24GB GDDR6 memory and costs $999, while the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 has 32GB GDDR7 and is expected to launch at $1999. In rasterization the 7900 XTX is roughly 15-25% slower than the 5090, but the gap widens to 40%+ with ray tracing and DLSS 4 enabled.

The AMD RX 9070 XT does not exist; the current equivalent is the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is also not released, but the RTX 4070 offers superior ray tracing, DLSS 3.5, and 1440p efficiency at $599 versus the RX 7900 XTX's $999 rasterization lead.

The RTX 5060 has 8GB GDDR7 memory and 250W TDP while the RTX 5090 has 32GB GDDR7 and 600W TDP. The 5090 delivers roughly 2.8x the rasterization performance and 3.2x the ray-tracing performance of the 5060 at 4K.
